Passive Acoustics. Hydrophone Array To Determine Direction 'n Range Of Source Sound Signal. Fixed Seafloor Array. Or, Mobile Towed Line Array.


Active Acoustics. Long Frequency Sonar (100-500 Hz) For Long-Range Detection. Array Operating Depth At ~1000-1500 ft. 230 Underwater dB at 1m Source Level. 1-3 secs Pulse or Ping. Listening For The Echo Backs.


The Special SOFAR Channel Layer. SOund Fixing And Ranging Channel Layer. Low Frequency Signals <500 Hz Can Travel Whole Ocean Lengths. Thus, Hydrophone Array Can Listen And Receive Signals From Other Side Of Ocean.
